ZRC Touch Tournament

The sun was shining, and the energy was palpable as the much-anticipated Cross Club Touch Tournament kicked off in our vibrant community this past weekend. It was a remarkable display of sportsmanship and camaraderie as players of all ages, including parents, youngsters, rugby players, and touch players, came together to celebrate the spirit of (touch) rugby.

The Tournament mixed those who had little experience in touch rugby, embracing the challenge with determination and a desire to learn. They quickly adapted to the fast-paced nature of the sport, proving that it's never too late to discover a new passion. Their commitment and progress were an inspiration to all. Equally inspiring was the rekindling of passion among experienced players who had previously drifted away (from sport). The tournament reminded them of the joy and camaraderie it brings. Their return injected a renewed energy into the tournament, demonstrating the lasting impact of touch rugby on individuals.

Among the participants, the younger generation emerged as a wellspring of potential. Their natural talent and enthusiasm were evident as they played alongside their parents and experienced players, and one of their school teachers. The tournament provided them with an invaluable opportunity to learn, grow, and develop their skills further. It was a glimpse into a promising future for (touch) rugby.

The food, BBQ, and drinks allowed to maintain an energy level throughout until the final. The Final showcased the superiority of communication and teamwork over individual physical abilities and skills.

Special thanks to the referees, and the cross club organizational committee.
